Recently, I experienced what it felt like to be needed by someone. To have them know that you are physically close to them so that they can hold your hand as you walk down the hall or watch a movie together. To have them touch your face and then get closer as they get scared. To be able to 'save' them from a 'horrible' situation that they can't figure their own way out.
This is what our Heavenly Father wants us to do to Him. To draw close to Him so that He knows we need Him and so He can guide us. He'll help us through the obstacles of life and be by our side at all times. We just have to reach up and accept His extended hand.
Do we seek God and truly desire to have Him near us at all times? Do we run to Him when we are scared or do we run to our friends?
Note: Please do not interpret these situations in the wrong manner... young children have an innocent love and trust of all adults and like to know that you are near them. God calls us to love like little children.
